ABOUT BARASTA VIKA:

JENDERAL SOEDIRMAN UNIVERSITY / PURWOKERTO

It might not be immediately apparent, but Barasta studied Social and Political Sciences at Jenderal Soedirman University in Purwokerto, with minors in editing and photography. Preferring *short films* over *politics*, he soon left behind an unremarkable freelance career to study cinematography at a renowned studio in Jakarta.

STUDIO CINEMA LYNX - JAKARTA

Barasta spent just over four years in Purwokerto before moving to Jakarta to work as a Junior Cinema Director at a renowned studio. He met exceptional people at that studio—with whom he maintains an ongoing professional relationship—and they continue to collaborate on client projects to this day.

From Purwokerto, Barasta moved to Jakarta to join a film agency in Central Jakarta. There, he worked under the guidance of the acclaimed director Anwar Basid. He then went on to build a national-level career—initially as an editor and later as a cinematographer at renowned agencies such as Cinema Lynx, ASV, and Frame—before ultimately reaching a career milestone as a cameraman at the Gondangdia cinema agency in 2026.
